Somewhere out there, a kitchen sink is “repaired” with a garden hose, 3 zip ties and hope.

We wish we were making that up.
We’ve also seen:
• Washing machines draining straight onto the basement floor — “It’s fine, it goes to the drain eventually.”
• Shower heads duct-taped to broom handles for “extra height.”
• Outdoor spigots “winterized” by wrapping them in a bath towel and trash bag.
• A bathroom sink plumbed to drain into a five-gallon bucket… that someone just “remembers” to empty.
• Flexible dryer vent tubing used as a drainpipe.
• Kitchen sink sprayers installed as handheld bidets.
• A toilet tank “fixed” with a brick and a bungee cord.
And that was just last month.
Hire someone licensed, insured, and old enough to know why the code book matters. Or at least someone who won’t patch your pipes with whatever’s in their junk drawer.
